7 – Dubai Arena
Opening in City Walk this year, Dubai Arena will have a capacity of up to 17,000 people, and will host live shows 365 days a year. The unique automated seating design, will allow it to host events of all sizes, from gala dinner and conferences to sporting tournaments and concerts, too.
8 – Mohammed Bin Rashid Library
Construction is well underway on this huge, new world-class library, which is designed to resemble an open book sitting on a ‘rehl’ – a traditional lectern which holds the Quran. When complete, the seven-storey library is expected to be the largest cultural centre in the region, housing more than 4.5 million books.
9 – Phantom of the Opera
Phantom of the Opera, one of the most popular musicals in the world, is coming to Dubai Opera this Autumn. Having won more than 70 major theatrical awards, including seven Broadway awards, it’s also the longest running show in Broadway history. Tickets go on sale soon, so get them while you still can.

The red carpet is rolling out for the 15th edition of Dubai International Film Festival this year, after a two year break. Initially launched in 2004, the star-studded event has grown to be the biggest film event in the region. Don’t miss the action this year, all set to dazzle with ‘a new approach’.
