Being a geek is not as cool as the pop culture community that comes out in full character. MEFCC is where gamers meet personally, and new creative work is developed through workshops. It’s where cosplay and LARP is taken to a competitive level. It’s where Trekkies, sci-fi fans, and steam-punkers watch teaser trailers of pilot screenings, have Q&A sessions, get celeb autographs, and seek out comics, collectibles, art, and animé paraphernalia. This year’s event is expected to have an even finer list of famed figures.
